Intent to fill one (1) indeterminate. A qualified pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff this position or similar positions or for future term, acting, assignment, secondment, deployment, or indeterminate opportunities.

Experience in the fit-up of First Responder vehicles such as Police, Fire and Ambulance within the past five years

Experience in leading a team of employees or contractors for a minimum of 2 consecutive years related to First Responder fit-up industry

Experience using a computer for work related emails

Experience using garage management programs and vehicle repair manuals

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience in placing orders for required replacement parts

Experience installing mobile communication equipment

Experience in welding and metal fabricating techniques

Conditions of employment

• RCMP Reliability Status security clearance.
• Possession of a valid Canadian Driver’s licence equivalent to a Class 5 in the province of the position (Manitoba).
• Ability to lift and carry heavy material (up to 40 kg)
• An ability and a willingness to travel by various modes of transportation (including commercial and light aircraft) up to and including remote locations.
• A driver’s abstract with no more than 2 minor violations in the last 12 months*

Those selected must meet and maintain the above conditions of employment throughout their employment.

*A copy of a driver’s abstract will be required during the assessment phase and may be requested again upon successful completion of the security clearance process for the successful candidate. “Minor” means a ticketed offence resulting in no more than 3 demerit points.

Interested persons must meet each essential qualification to be appointed to the position. However, a person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.

All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

External candidates may be eligible for the initial appointment relocation entitlement of up to $5000 if they are not currently a federal public service employee.

Foreign credentials will be accepted as long as they are considered acceptable by a recognized Canadian educational institution. A simulation exercise may be administered

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
