Our Action Starts at Home! The Home Energy Retrofit Initiative is designed to: improve Canadian’s home energy efficiency by providing grants of up to $5,000 to help homeowners make energy-efficient improvements to their homes; conduct EnerGuide energy assessments; and support the recruitment and training of EnerGuide energy advisors.

This process will be used to establish an anticipatory pool of qualified candidates. It may also be used to staff similar positions with various tenures within the Public Service with various language profiles and various security requirements.
Employees at the PM-05 group and level or equivalent may be considered for deployment first. If no deployment is made, applicants from other groups and levels may be considered.

The position to be staffed is located in the National Capital Region, however, virtual work from other Canadian regions will also be considered.

Project Management Professional certification.

6. Candidates are strongly encouraged to indicate if they meet any of the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed. Meeting one or many of the asset qualifications may be a deciding factor in appointing a candidate amongst the qualified candidates. Please note that one, some or all the asset qualifications could be used at any stage of the staffing process.
7. Candidates should be prepared to provide proof of education (copy of degree/diploma) and citizenship or permanent resident status. If you have obtained education outside Canada, you will be required to submit proof of evaluation of Canadian equivalency.

9. Natural Resources Canada will use the services of a third-party Human Resources Consultant to administer the assessment for this position. 10. A variety of assessment tools may be used in the assessment of candidates, such as: * written test, practical test, situational exercise, * oral interview, simulation, presentation, role-play, work samples, performance appraisals and/or * reference checks. Some assessment tools may be administered electronically, others, in-person. (* Indicates those tools that will most likely be used in this process.)
11. Depending on the number of applicants, Natural Resources Canada needs and HR plans, volume management strategies such as random selection, application of one (1) or more assets, top-down approach, and/or cut-off scores may be used for the purpose of managing applications/candidates.
12. Recent and past performance evaluations may be used as part of the assessment. Accordingly, you may be asked to submit a copy of your last two (2) Performance Ratings/Evaluations as part of this selection process. Please be prepared to provide documentation should it be requested from the selection board, such as a public service performance agreement or personal evaluation report any stage of the staffing process.
13. If you are unavailable for the scheduled assessment session, you must inform us immediately. Applicants will be only be rescheduled on a case-by-case basis. Supporting documentation may be required at the time of your request to be re-scheduled.
