The intent of this appointment process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates. However, the results of this process may be used to staff same or similar positions for future vacancies of various tenures at Public Services and Procurement Canada.

Degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in environmental sciences, environmental studies, environmental engineering, biology, ecology, chemistry, earth sciences, physical geography, or other science or applied science directly relevant to the position.
(1) Significant* and recent** experience in one of the following areas:
a) Providing technical support and guidance on sustainability, such as sustainable development planning, zero carbon, climate change resiliency, embodied carbon, renewable energy, storm water management, rainwater/greywater harvesting, water use reduction, envelope thermal performance, high efficiency building systems, renewable energy systems, waste management, material selection, thermal comfort, ventilation and indoor air quality, daylighting, health and wellness, Green building certifications (such as Zero Carbon, LEED, Green Globes, BOMA BEST, WELL).
b) Conducting or managing environmental projects involving sustainable buildings management such as studies or assessments related to the following: Zero Carbon, climate change resiliency, embodied carbon, GHG options analysis, renewable energy etc.
(2) Recent** experience in developing and maintaining collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
NOTE:
*Significant is defined as experience associated with having performed a range of activities on a variety of projects of varying sizes and complexity, normally acquired by having undertaken this work on a regular basis for approximately 3 years. Complex files would contain two or more of the following characteristics: high profile (e.g. public or media attention), multi-stakeholder, high value, multi-organizational, multi-jurisdictional (e.g. public-private, federal-provincial, federal-municipal), broad in scope, requiring broad consultations, high impact, or any other factors that the candidate can demonstrate that constitute complex.
**Recent is defined as within the 5 years immediately prior to the closing date of this job opportunity advertisement.
Master’s Degree from a recognized university in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
P. Eng or Licensed as an Architect in Ontario
LEED Certification
FitWel or WELL Certification
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Experience in conducting or managing environmental projects involving sustainable buildings management such as studies or assessments related to the following: Zero Carbon, climate change resiliency, renewable energy options, greenhouse gas reduction options, embodied carbon, energy efficiency, water conservation, wastewater management, sustainable use of resources, non-hazardous waste management.
Experience in monitoring of greening government and sustainable development commitments.
Experience in project management practices (contract management, scope development, budget monitoring, work team management, acceptance of deliverables).
Experience in managing contractors or consultants during the execution of environmental projects.
Experience in developing briefing notes and/or making recommendations to senior management.
Operational Requirements:
Possession of a valid Driver's Licence or personal mobility to the extent normally associated with the possession of a valid driver's licence.
Candidates must be able and willing to travel to construction work sites and access areas of work for inspection or assessment.
