EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
NOTES:
Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Significant* experience planning, conducting and managing complex** research, data or survey projects related to demographic, socio-economic or health topics.
Experience in researching or analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, integrating information from numerous sources and verifying records and/or documents for accuracy and completeness.
Experience providing written advice and recommendations to senior management (Director level and above) concerning research, or evaluation or data projects.
Experience representing your organization in multilateral settings, involving participants such as: federal departments, other levels of government, non-governmental organizations, or Indigenous organizations or communities.
Experience building, maintaining or improving working relationships with internal and external partners.
Experience planning and managing research or survey projects.
“*Significant” experience is defined as the breadth and depth of experience associated with completing the duties of the position for period of at least two (2) years.
“**Complex” projects are deemed to have one (1) or more of the following characteristics:
Many variables;
Many partners or stakeholders;
Potential for major impact on policy or program delivery;
Potential for broad and/or intense public scrutiny.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a master's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in economics, sociology, geography, anthropology, Indigenous studies, political science, demography, public management and public health management or statistics.
Graduation with a doctoral degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in economics, sociology, geography, anthropology, Indigenous studies, political science, demography, public management and public health management or statistics.
(Not essential, but preference may be given to candidates who possess the organizational needs)
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in writing or publishing research or survey information on Indigenous issues.
Experience in reviewing and providing input into strategic documents, including but not limited to Memoranda to Cabinet, Treasury Board submissions and Business Plans.
Experience in the planning, negotiation and management of contracts with contractors.
Experience supervising staff assigned to projects or tasks (e.g., staff may include: students, support staff, or research staff).
Experience conducting micro-simulation modelling and/or developing detailed demographic or economic forecasts.
Significant experience* using one (1) or more statistical software packages or computer programing language to perform advanced statistical analysis of data using techniques such as: multiple regression; logistic regression; difference-in-difference models; multi-level modeling; analysis of variance, analysis of covariance, or cluster analysis.

Be willing and able to travel within Canada, including to remote areas.
