You will be required to demonstrate how you meet the education and experience criteria (essential and asset) for the initial screening, in answering online screening questions. It is NOT sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather, you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples. Information on your described education and experience provided in the screening questions should be supported by your résumé. Failure to provide the above information in the format required may result in your application being rejected from the process.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE-Screening Questions: We cannot make any assumptions about your experience. Simply saying you have the required qualifications or listing your current duties is not enough. You must provide clear examples to substantiate your experience by demonstrating HOW, WHEN and WHERE the qualification was met. The depth and breadth of experience of an applicant may be considered as part of screening or selection of a candidate, which is why it is recommended you quantify your experience. Failure to provide the above information in the format required may result in your application being rejected from the process. Information provided in the screening questions should be supported by your résumé.
All communication relating to this process, including email correspondence, may be used in the assessment of qualifications.

When submitting an application to this selection process, you will be prompted to answer screening questions concerning the essential education and experience qualifications. It is your responsibility to provide clear and concrete examples in your responses to each question, including when (from-to), where (occupational title, organization) and how you obtained your education and experience. It is recommended that you describe the experience examples in specific terms, providing sufficient details so that the Assessment Board can clearly understand. Describe the situation/task, the action you took, what you accomplished and/or what you learned. The content of your response must be supported by your resume as your responses to these questions will be used as a primary source of information and your resume will only be used to validate this information. Should you indicate in your response "please refer to resume" your application will be rejected. Lack of examples and details will result in your application being rejected as the Assessment Board will have insufficient information to determine if the requirement is met.
You may be assessed using one or more of the following tools: standardized tests, written exams, interview, simulation exercise, reference check, and other assessment tools.
The successful applicant will have to obtain, as a minimum, an RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status security clearance. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, etc.
All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
