In its role of strategic partner to ECCC senior management, the Internal Audit group promotes collaboration, professionalism and building lasting client relationships in the delivery of our services. In the coming years, the Internal Audit group is planning to look at efficiency, effectiveness, program delivery, IT systems as well as other internal services and initiatives that support the delivery of ECCC’s unique and significant mandate.

EDUCATION:
ED1) Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting, finance, business or public administration, commerce, economics, or other field relevant to the position (the term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate).
EXPERIENCE:
EX1) Recent* and significant** experience in performing all phases of audit projects (planning, examination, reporting).
EX2) Recent* and significant** experience in preparing written materials intended for senior management (director level and above), such as but not limited to briefing notes, reports, presentations or the development of internal audit findings and recommendations.
EX3) Experience in analyzing and synthesizing information or data from multiple sources to formulate opinions.
*Recent experience is defined as experience normally associated with performance of duties within the last 5 years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum of 2 years.

EDUCATION:
AED1) Possession of a recognized professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA) and/or a professional certification from a recognized internal auditing association (i.e. CIA or CISA).
EXPERIENCE:
AEX1) Experience in conducting follow-ups on audit recommendations.
AEX2) Experience in developing risk-based internal audit plans.
AEX3) Experience in working on quality assurance activities within an internal audit function.
AEX4) Experience in data analytics (e.g. analyzing sets of data from SAP using ACL or IDEA).
AEX5) Experience in using tools such as power Business Intelligence to report results of data analysis.
AEX6) Experience using TeamMate audit software.
AEX7) Experience contributing to the development of internal audit processes and procedures.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness and ability to work overtime.
Willingness and ability to travel within Canada.
