Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position in one of the following locations: Halifax, NS, Moncton, NB or St. John’s, NL.

A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic requirements and in various locations at Public Services and Procurement Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in land survey theory and practice or other related field such as geomatics, geodetic sciences or remote sensing.

Degree equivalency

Experience
Significant* experience in managing human and financial resources.
Experience working with project teams and managing all phases of Hydrographic Survey projects with varying degrees of complexity** and size.
Experience in providing strategic technical advice to stakeholders on issues related to hydrography.
Experience in managing the delivery of technical projects.

*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of these duties for period of approximately 3 years.
**Complexity is defined as, but not limited to, projects that involve construction, environmental, and legal aspects.

Asset Qualifications
Occupation Certifications
Eligibility for a Land Surveyor Commission in Canada
Certification as a hydrographic professional (such as Canadian Certified Hydrographer)
Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada

Asset Experience
Experience in the application of information management practices.

Organizational Needs

Operational Requirements
Willingness and ability to work in and around construction sites and wharf sites including wearing protective equipment.
Must be willing to work in remote locations as required.
Willingness to travel frequently by car, boat or plane for short or long periods of time.
Must be willing to work overtime as required.

Possession of a valid Provincial Driver’s License OR personal mobility to the extent normally associated with the possession of a valid driver’s license, within the limits of Treasury Board Policy.
