The Innovation Centre is a transportation innovation research, development and deployment (RD&D) organization that supports emerging transportation technologies to help ensure Canadians can benefit from a safe, secure, clean, and integrated transportation system. Intent of the process

This process may establish a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates within Transport Canada, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various tenures (such as indeterminate or specified period). These positions could have various security and language requirements and/or profiles depending on the position being staffed.

- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, marine engineering, oceanographic engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

AEX2: Significant** experience conducting research to measure or quantify fuel/emission reductions or improve efficiency in the road, marine, rail, or multi-modal sectors.

AEX3: Significant** experience conducting research in the road, marine, rail, or multi-modal sectors on one or more of the following topics:
- safe operations and human factors
- equipment inspections
- automation and cyber security

AEX4: Significant** experience in planning, analyzing, and implementation of scientific studies or Research & Development projects in the road, marine, rail, or multi-modal sectors, including topics such as:
- environmental performance, including emissions or energy efficiency
- zero emission technology
- connectivity or automation in the
- cybersecurity
- remotely piloted aircraft systems

AEX5: Experience* developing or informing guidelines for codes and standards associated with new technologies and operating practices in the road, marine, rail, or multi-modal sectors.

AEX6: Experience* in cybersecurity, wireless communication technology, or designing, deploying or maintaining Intelligent Transportation System technologies.
