The Data Operation Centre (DOC), located at 200 de la Technologie Blvd, Gatineau (QC) is looking for Loading Dock Operators to support its warehouse operations. Canadians are trusting us with one of the most important data collection that helps plan for services that support employment, schools, public transit, hospitals and more. Census provides high quality data at all levels of geography. We’re looking for dedicated team members who will help us fulfill that mandate.
What is the Data Operation Centre (DOC)?
The DOC is responsible for the management of processing operations (census help line, receipt and registration of all questionnaires, document preparation, scanning, data capture, editing and coding) for the 2021 Census of Population and the 2021 Census of Agriculture.
We even have free parking for all employees!
What does a Loading Dock Operator do?
Performs various tasks including receiving, shipping, packaging, moving, loading and storing of census documents, stationary, supplies, machines, equipment and furniture. Assembles and dismantles furniture systems and office equipment. Performs minor repairs on furniture and office equipment. At the end of the Census cycle, participates in archival activities for Census questionnaires.
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions for the 2021 Census in various locations, various linguistic profiles, tenures, security clearances and conditions of employment.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:

Due to the nature of the work, we will not be able to permit extended periods of vacation during the period of May to August.

• You will not be eligible for indeterminate status as a result of your employment in the Census program; time spent as an excluded employee will not count towards the three-year term to indeterminate conversion.
• You will be entitled to seven days' notice if you are rejected on probation.
• You will be entitled to seven days' notice when your employment ends, should your services no longer be required by reason of lack of work, the end of the census cycle or the transfer of work to other staff.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
