Essential Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in biological, natural, physical or applied science with specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
Examples of fields of specialization include: agriculture, agronomy, biology, botany, forestry, pest management, plant pathology, plant physiology, microbiology, entomology, weed science, soil chemistry, ecotoxicology, toxicology, physiology, biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacology, industrial/occupational hygiene, health/biomedical sciences, etc..
Experience
Experience in analysing and reviewing scientific data, scientific literature and/or scientific information.
Experience in writing reports that analyse, integrate and summarize key scientific information from multiple sources.
Experience in participating and contributing to multidisciplinary teams and/or projects/activities.

Asset Education
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) in biological, natural, physical or applied science or a field of specialization identified in the essential education
Asset Knowledge
Stream 1 – Toxicology
Knowledge of theories and procedures relevant to the assessment of toxicity (for example, mammalian physiology, carcinogenicity, pharmacology, neurotoxicity, etc.).
Knowledge of the theories and principles of human hazard and risk assessment of chemical substances.
Stream 2 –Dietary and Occupational/Residential Exposure
Knowledge of the theories and principles of human hazard and risk assessment of chemical substances.
Stream 3 - Environmental Risk
Knowledge of the theories and principles of environmental hazard and/or risk assessment of chemical substances.
Stream 4 – Registration
Knowledge of project management and coordination.
Stream 5 – - Value Assessment (efficacy and crop safety)
Knowledge of the theories and principles related to pest management
Willingness and ability to work overtime.
Willingness and ability to travel upon request.
