EDUCATION
-Completion of a recognized post-secondary program in a field of natural, physical or applied sciences or engineering relevant to the duties of the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE - ALL LEVELS (EG-03/EG-04/EG-05)
-Experience providing technical support for scientific field or laboratory projects in one or more of the following areas: fish population science, fish stock assessment, fish habitat science, fisheries productivity science, marine mammal ecology, marine mammal stock assessment, ecosystem science, biodiversity science, aquatic invasive species, species at risk, aquaculture science, animal health, fish husbandry, genomics or biotechnology, benthic ecology, or oceanography.
-Experience in the collection and management of samples or data.
-Experience in the use of computer software for analyses of data, preparation of graphical output, and report preparation.
-Experience operating and maintaining lab or field equipment.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR EG-04 & EG-05 POSITIONS:
-Experience in analyzing and interpreting data.
-Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR EG-05 POSITIONS:
-Experience planning logistics and managing independent work teams for technical support in scientific field or laboratory projects.
-Experience developing technology or methodologies.
-Experience giving technical advice to internal or external clients.
• Experience in managing projects and applying project management principles and best practices.
