Duties

We are seeking individuals who have the ability to create vision and strategy and can mobilize people and inspire teams! Our management positions are responsible for nurturing networks, collaborating with partners and stakeholders and delivering results.

Leading a team of professionals, the CO-03 Manager position is responsible for managing a portfolio of projects and allocated budget, engaging and creating strategic linkages with a variety of stakeholders (including all levels of government, private sector and not for profit organizations), gathering regional intelligence to help shape program policies and advice to senior management, and supporting client service excellence through innovation and the effective and efficient delivery of federal economic development programs and services and across southern Ontario.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post- secondary institution with acceptable specialization in commerce, economics, business administration, finance, accounting, or another specialty relevant to the position

Degree equivalency

Recent and Significant* experience in managing funding programs to businesses or not-for-profit corporations, or leading dedicated teams to implement complex** projects.

Recent and significant* experience providing strategic advice, briefing materials, and recommendations to senior management*** on complex** issues.

Experience establishing relationships and growing networks with multiple internal and external stakeholders such as private sector, other departments/ agencies or levels of government, not for profit organizations, and academia.

Recent and significant* experience managing human and financial resources

*Recent and significant experience is normally associated with the applicant having performed a broad range of associated duties on an ongoing basis for approximately one year (1) within the last three (3) years.

**Complex issues have at least two (2) of the following characteristics: multi-dimensional, sensitive or confidential, impact several partners or stakeholders, or could yield potential for significant media coverage

Masters Degree from a recognized post- secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

Experience in the management and delivery of federal grants and contributions programming or commercial and financial lending.

Experience in preparing and managing complex corporate reports such as performance management, audit requirements and establishing compliance protocols.

Experience managing information management (IM) and information technology (IT) technology and/or leading system development initiatives.
