ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation with a degree* from recognized post-secondary institution in a health or social science field directly related to the duties of the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience**.
Definitions:
**A degree is defined as a baccalaureate or higher level degree, as established by educational authorities.
**Acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience: Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program and two years of working experience within the federal, provincial or territorial government. It is the recognized educational institution (e.g. community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
Experience:
Experience in providing strategic advice and making recommendations to senior management regarding Indigenous health or social issues.
Experience in developing and implementing evidence based policy and program solutions in a health or community development related domain.
Significant experience*** in negotiating and building partnerships with Indigenous leaders or organizations, or provincial/territorial/federal governments.
Significant experience*** in the management of human**** and financial*****resources.
Definitions:
***Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various related activities which are normally acquired over a period over at least two (2) years.
****Managing human resources may include: supervision of staff; establishing vision, priorities, work plans or establishing performance objectives; conducting performance assessments and feedback; approving training. Applicants must also indicate the number of staff they have supervised.
*****Managing financial resources may include: full delegation and being responsible for financial planning, budget allocation, resource management, forecasting and reporting. Applicants must also indicate the size of the budget they managed directly.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation with a post-graduate degree from recognized post-secondary institution. (A post-graduate degree is defined as a master or doctorate level degree as established by educational authorities.)
Experience:
Experience in developing and managing Grants & Contributions programs and related interactions with recipient organizations.
Experience in developing and implementing evidence based policy and program solutions in the fields of public health or primary health care.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)
