Assessment accommodation

The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) is an independent agency of the Government of Canada, established in 1987 to contribute to the safety and soundness of the Canadian financial system. OSFI supervises and regulates federally registered banks and insurers, trust and loan companies, as well as private pension plans subject to federal oversight.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- Graduation with a degree* from a recognized university.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Experience at the executive level in leading an organizational communications function including social media, media relations and crisis management in the financial sector or financial sector regulatory environment.
- Experience at the executive level in collaborating and maintaining partnerships in various sectors such as federal government, private sector, national or international organizations and media.
- Experience at the executive level in providing strategic advice, recommendations and briefings to senior executives*.
- Experience at the executive level in growing talent, mobilizing the workforce and developing strong people leaders.
- Experience managing financial resources**.

*Senior executives include: Minister, Deputy/Associate Deputy Minister, Assistant Deputy Minister, C-Suite level executive, Senior Vice President.
**Managing financial resources include: full delegation and being responsible for financial planning, budget allocation, resource management, forecasting and reporting. Applicants must indicate the size and scope of the budget for which they were directly accountable.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
