EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in in metallurgical or chemical engineering, or a discipline related to the position.
EXPERIENCE:
-At least 5 years of experience in mineral processing in an industrial setting (crushing, grinding, flotation etc.)
- Significant experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships and multi-disciplinary research projects with industry, academia and research organizations and other government laboratories,
– Significant experience in development, planning and delivery of multidisciplinary research projects in the area of mineral processing with focus on grinding, flotation and gravity separation,
- Significant experience in technology development and evaluation with specific focus on mineral processing technology.
Significant experience is defined as at least five years.

Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of recent developments and trends in mineral processing technologies
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Knowledge of mineral processing practices and methods such as grinding, flotation, sample preparation for assays and testing, gravity separation, magnetic separation etc
ABILITIES:
- Communicate effectively in writing
- Communicate effectively orally;
- Plan and organize research studies in laboratory;
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment;
- Ability to conduct research and develop in-depth understanding of complex engineering principles and synthesize new ideas and produce presentations and engineering reports
- Ability to manage, plan, organize and set priorities
-Attract research funds from the mining industry
-Work on industrial related projects related to crushing, grinding, flotation and other processes related to mineral processing
PERSONAL SUITABILITY:

- Sound judgement
- PhD or Masters degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in metallurgical or chemical engineering, or a discipline related to the position.
Operations and research experience
Knowledge of mass balancing software (e.g. BILMAT)
-Knowledge of statistical software (e.g. Minitab)
-Knowledge of statistical methods
-Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
