We are currently looking for candidates for two teams within ACOA’s Chief Information Officer Directorate.

Stream 1 - Developer, Application Development:
The Application Development team is responsible for development and operation of custom software that supports program delivery and internal services. The main duties of a Developer include:

• End-to-end development and maintenance of custom software in an agile environment
• Technical support of custom software
• Engagement and collaboration with clients and other stakeholders
• Project coordination and technical leadership
• Application platform administration (on-premises and cloud)
• Provision of expert advice, guidance, and coaching to team members, management, and clients

Stream 2 - Database Analyst, Database and Data Administration:
The Database and Data Administration team is responsible for building reports and dashboards, supporting information systems, and managing corporate data, databases, and business intelligence (BI) platforms. The main duties of a Database Analyst include:

• End-to-end development and maintenance of BI solutions
• Technical support of BI solutions and corporate information systems
• Management of data sources to enable self-service BI and data analytics
• Engagement and collaboration with clients and other stakeholders
• Project coordination and technical leadership
• Database and BI platform administration (on-premises and cloud)
• Provision of expert advice, guidance, and coaching to team members, management, and clients

A pool of qualified candidates will be established through this process and used to fill future openings for permanent and/or temporary* positions. The positions may be located at ACOA’s Head Office in Moncton, New Brunswick or in an ACOA office in one of the other cities listed. Due to COVID-19, our teams currently work virtually from home using the latest technologies to stay connected. Potential employees may work virtually from one of these cities depending on the position to be staffed.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
You have graduated with a bachelor's or graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position OR have an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience related to the position.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

For STREAMS 1 & 2, you must have significant* and recent** experience in the following:
• Developing and maintaining software, including analysis, design, build, testing, delivery, and support
• Analyzing and documenting client requirements, and recommending solutions
• Troubleshooting software and technical issues

Candidates for STREAM 1 (Developer) must also have:
• Significant* and recent** experience in web development
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g. development, design, management)

Candidates for STREAM 2 (Database Analyst) must also have:
• Significant* and recent** experience in relational database development
• Recent** experience in relational database design and management
• Recent** experience in building business intelligence solutions (e.g. reports, dashboards, data warehousing, data visualization, machine learning)


* Significant experience is defined as experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of related activities for a period of at least three (3) years.

** Recent experience is defined as experience normally acquired within the last three (3) years.

The following qualifications are considered assets. They are not required but we want to know more about you if you meet them.

• Do you have experience leading projects or initiatives, or being responsible for key deliverables throughout a project or initiative?
