Assessment accommodation

This position is located in Toronto. As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, you will be required to report to and work onsite from the Toronto office.

Duties

Within a small team of dedicated HR professionals, the Senior Human Resources (HR) advisor is responsible for the provision of a wide range of strategic and operational Human Resources services.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience and subject matter expertise in labour relations and will ensure compliance with applicable legislation, policies and collective agreements in alignment with OSFI's strategic objectives and HR strategies. In addition to this, the Senior HR Advisor will provide leadership and coaching to the HR Operations team members.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Significant* experience in managing a wide variety of complex** labour relations files including grievances, disciplinary and performance management situations.
• Experience in providing strategic advice to clients and consulting with them to develop HR solutions to business issues.
• Experience in the delivery of HR training workshops or information sessions.
• Experience in writing reports, briefing materials or presentation materials for senior management.
• Experience providing advice and mentoring/coaching to HR team members on human resources related issues.

*Significant means the depth and breadth of experience that is normally acquired by performing the tasks continuously over a period of 5-7 years or more.

** “Complex” refers to issues that are multidimensional, highly technical, precedent setting, or having a major organization-wide impact.
