The purpose of this process is to staff one (1) EG-04 position on a determinate basis in Edmonton, Alberta.

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1)
1. 1.The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Recent experience (within the last 4 years) in performing forestry or natural sciences related field work.
• Experience working with vegetation surveys.
• Experience in lab sample preparation and basic analyses.
• Successful completion of an acceptable degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in forestry, land reclamation, biology or physical sciences
• Experience in developing and maintaining large databases
• Experience using ArcGIS and R Statistical Software

• Knowledge of plant community, tree and soil development in natural, reclaimed or agroforestry ecosystems.
• Ability to identify common boreal or wetland plant species.
• Ability to set up experimental plots and deploy field monitoring equipment
• Ability to summarize data and perform statistical tests.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
