Work environment

This position is responsible for providing advice and analysis for a broad range of services, including building operations management, printing, mail and Crown asset management services, to the judges, senior management and staff of the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) in order to contribute to the delivery of their programs and to the achievement of their vision and mandate. The responsibilities of this position also involve the supervision of a small team.

The Supreme Court of Canada building is located at 301 Wellington Street and is a designated heritage building in downtown Ottawa. This building is unique given its special purpose function of housing the chambers and courtroom of Canada’s highest court, and it also has significant and complex ceremonial, architectural and historical aspects. There is an ongoing Rehabilitation Project for the SCC that will involve moving all staff and functions to a nearby swing space while major renovations take place.

This position offers interesting opportunities for candidates who want to expand their knowledge and experience in this unique context while working with a dynamic and supportive team.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff the above mentioned position; it may also be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions at the Office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Canada with varying linguistic profiles, security profiles, and tenures.

EDUCATION:

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in providing recommendations and advice to clients, management and stakeholders in facilities accommodation projects and management.

Experience in material management.

Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience in coordinating activities in accommodation fit up projects.
