Duties

Here are a few examples of duties that you could be required to perform in an administrative position:

• Be the first point of contact for telephone calls, email messages, or in person enquiries;

Intent of the process

Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada is committed to having a skilled and diversified representative of the population we serve. The intent is to staff positions with an Indigenous person in order to strategically increase indigenous representation in the department. As such, first consideration will be given to candidates self-identifying as an Indigenous person.

The purpose of this process is to staff one (1) position on a full-time basis in Yellowknife, NT.

It may also be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (deployment, assignment, secondment, acting, term or Indeterminate) within Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) in Yellowknife with various security requirements (reliability or secret).

By default, and in the interest of the greater public service, pools created as a result of staffing processes at CIRNAC will be shared with other government departments.

Degree equivalency

• Experience in providing a range of administrative support services to senior management in a fast paced environment.
• Experience in information management and records keeping (printed and electronic).
• Experience in administrative supported related to finance such as assisting in budgeting, recording transactions, developing and seeking required approvals, reporting on expenditures/balances and providing advice.
• Experience in entering and verifying data into a computerized system.

• Experience using SAP (Financial Management System).

• Experience using ccmEnterprise/ccm Mercury, WebCims (Ministerial Correspondence tracking system).
• Experience using Travel Management System, such as HRG, to book travel and process travel claims.
• Experience in providing general Procurement and Contracting support services.
