Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates in order to staff identical or similar positions within the Canadian Space Agency with various language requirements, tenures, and security requirements.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, management, sciences or another discipline related to the position. An acceptable combination of education, training and experience may be accepted.

*Degree refers to baccalaureate.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCES:

• *Recent experience in planning or implementing scientific, technological, economic or commercialization projects/initiatives that involve stakeholders from the private sector, academia or the public sector;

• *Recent experience in giving advice and recommendations orally (information sessions, presentations) or in writing (briefing notes, presentations, reports) on issues relating to policies, strategies or programs regarding scientific or technological innovation, economic development or commercialization;

• *Recent experience in conducting studies, analyses or research on socio economic, policy, strategic or program issues with respect to the private sector, academia or the public sector.

*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired over the last five (5) years.

• Knowledge of Public Services and Procurement Canada’s procurement processes or Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s transfer payment policy (grants and contributions);
• Knowledge of the CSA’s strategic priorities and key stakeholders of the space sector in Canada and abroad;
• Knowledge of space science and technology and the benefits they generate for Canada and Canadians.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS - ABILITIES/SKILLS:

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, partners and colleagues;
• Ability to analyze and evaluate difficult situations and make recommendations;
• Showing initiative and being action oriented;

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION:

Post-graduate degree from a recognized university in an area relevant to the position.

• * Recent experience in developing or managing tenders or announcements of opportunities to support innovation in areas related to science and technology;

• Experience in the strategic planning exercise of a department or a federal agency;

• *Recent and **significant experience in developing partnerships or organizing consultations and exchanges with national and international stakeholders from the private sector, academia or the public sector;

• *Recent and **significant experience in developing or implementing the management of program performance measurement strategies and benefits (i.e., indicators, logic models, outcomes) or evaluating programs;

• *Recent and **significant experience in carrying out commercialization activities in the space field.

*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired over the last five (5) years

**Significant is defined as experience that made up the majority of a candidate’s duties for a period of at least one (1) year.
