Our dynamic team is part of the Communications and Engagement Branch. Our objectives are excellence in teamwork and the effective management of the delivery of learning events for all federal public servants across Canada.

As an Event Coordinator, you will be at the heart all of the logistics involved in planning and delivering learning events. Most notably, you will have to interact with various stakeholders at the School, contracting exciting speakers and most importantly work as a team.

Our team is creative, supportive and energetic! We truly love what we do. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, our team has changed its direction and has been offering completely virtual events. This new model has demonstrated that it is responding to the needs of public servants with more learners having participated in events in the first quarter and second quarter than the entirety of all of last year.

Intent of the process

ANTICIPATORY STAFFING: A pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various linguistic profiles, various work locations and various security requirements within the Canada School of Public Service.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES
Experience in providing client services.

Experience coordinating or delivering at least two administrative services related to the logistics* involved in the organization of learning activities**.

Experience in coordinating or delivering a completely virtual learning activity** using a virtual platform.

Experience in the coordination of a budget such as, but not limited to, using a financial management system, management of commitments, paying invoices or budget reconciliation.

* The definition of “logistics” in the context of learning is defined as the detailed organization and implementation of the learning event planning details, which include, but is not limited to the coordination of items such as: program, registration, procurement, marketing, accommodation requirements, hospitality, contracting speakers, audio-visual needs and more.

** A “Learning Activity” is defined at a 1.5 hour to a full day session or more that could include logistical requirements such as, but not limited to, registration, audio-visual requirements, webcasting, the evaluation and the presence of the moderator/speakers.
