Duties

A day on the job might include:

• Preparing and providing reports (e.g. statistical data of work completed, inventory, etc.)
• Monitoring employee queues and performance, coordinating and delegating work to team
• Implementing new procedures as changes occur, integrating updates communicated by management
• Developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and working instructions
• Identifying errors and patterns of processing weakness, finding solutions
• Providing employee feedback, setting clear expectations, completing performance evaluations
• Providing clear tools and instructions to team for improved application processing
• Modeling appropriate work ethic and behaviour
• Collaborating with other teams, working independently
• Holding meetings and building team morale
• Taking initiative to solve problems and strengthen the unit
• Coordinating orientation and training of new officers
• Communicating orally or in writing with applicants

Intent of the process

The intent of this inventory is to have a pool of interested candidates and/or qualified candidates to draw from when vacancies arise and for current and future needs within Health Canada in Ottawa. Résumés and applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis as long as the poster is active.

EDUCATION

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

• Experience working in a fast-paced high volume environment
• Experience in leading or coordinating projects or workflow
• Experience providing recommendations to management on program issues
