KEY ACTIVITIES:
Design, develop, validate, review, adapt and maintain testing materials issued by the French Testing Section;
Administer language tests intended for placement, language proficiency evaluation and certification;
Provide training to staff members regarding language proficiency benchmarks standards;
Organize, lead and take part in standardization sessions for test administrators.
In regular circumstances, the work is to be performed at the Saint-Jean Garrison which is located in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, approximately 30 minutes from Montreal, on the South Shore. You have access to free parking and an affordable cafeteria. In addition, there are sports facilities (swimming pool, gym, various courses).

Meanwhile, a pool of candidates will be established and may be used to staff positions for determinate (casual) periods. This pool could be used to fill similar positions within the Department of National Defense in Quebec area with various language proficiencies and security profiles.

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Education, Linguistics or any other specialty relevant to the position.
Experience
EX.1 Experience in the field of teaching French as a second or foreign language to adult learners.
EX.2 Recent * experience in language testing (which could have been acquired during an internship.
*recent: acquired within the last eight years.
Asset Education
AE1. Bachelor’s or Master's degree from a recognized university in the field of Teaching French as a Second or Foreign Language.
AE.2 Master’s degree in a field related to testing.
Asset Experience
AEX1. Experience in test development.
AEX2. Experience in French as a second or foreign language testing research.
AEX3. Experience in Teaching French as a Second or Foreign language in a military environment.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/PPP)
