Assessment accommodation

When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.

When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

***We will only accept on-line applications received via the jobs.gc.ca site.***

Your application in this inventory will be active for 60 days. A notice that your application is about to expire will be posted to the My jobs menu of your account 15 days before the end of your active period. If you do not take action, your application will no longer be active and therefore no longer considered for this inventory. Should your application become inactive while the process is still open, a notice will be posted to your account indicating that your application has expired; you may select the link Update my Inventory Status to reaffirm your interest.

Applications will be pulled from the inventory on a regularly basis in order to fill immediate needs and establish a pool of qualified candidates.

Subsequent extractions will take place on an "as and when needed" basis.

If candidates are pulled from this inventory and are unsuccessful, their application will not be given any further consideration. We encourage candidates to continue to consult the other job opportunities posted by the Public Service Commission of Canada at following address: http://jobs-emplois.gc.ca/index- eng.htm

You will be required to show how you demonstrate the essential and other qualifications by answering online screening questions. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their pre-screening answers how they meet ESSENTIAL AND ASSET education and experience factors listed in the Statement of Merit Criteria. Candidates must write one or two paragraphs for each, demonstrating how they meet them and citing concrete examples (When, Where, How). Please explain how you meet each criteria in a maximum of 4000 characters per criteria. Please note that it is not sufficient to only state that the qualification is met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Resumes may only be used as a secondary source to validate the experience described in your answers. It is not acceptable to put “see resume” in the space provided to answer the question. A cover letter will not be considered as a secondary source to validate the experience described in your answers. Failure to clearly demonstrate how you meet the criteria will result in the rejection of your application. Candidates will not be solicited for incomplete or possible missing information.

Résumés may be used as a secondary source to validate the qualifications described; comments such as "refer to my attached resume" will not be accepted and may result in your application being rejected.

**Written communication will be assessed through the responses provided in the screening questions**

Candidates must provide proof of their education during the assessment phase. Original diplomas, degrees or certified transcripts may be required and must be presented upon request. Failure to produce required documents will result in your application not being considered. If you went to school outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. Read more on Degree equivalency or visit the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) at: https://www.cicic.ca.
