As part of the Professional and Technical Services (PTS) unit with Support and Advisory Services, Technical Services team, the Project Management Officer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Conducting site inspections and preparing condition reports for Government of Canada Assets, both PSPC, and other government departments
• Managing external consultants for building condition inspections and reports; including approving project payments and performance quality assurance, and accepting contracted work, as in accordance with departmental delegations
• Participating in the asset condition reporting with PSPC headquarters
• Conducting Accessibility Audits for Government of Canada facilities and leased spaces
• Carrying out the function of subject matter expert for internal quality engagements of our service providers
• Providing architectural technical advice to various Clients on facility maintenance and applicable legislation, codes, standards, and guidelines

The intent of this appointment process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates that may be used to staff identical or similar positions of various tenures and various locations in PSPC.

Successful completion of a post-secondary education (University or College) from a recognized institution in an Architectural field *
* This may include Architecture, Architectural Studies, Architectural Science, Architectural Technician/Technology, or Building Science
Recent* and significant** experience in managing architectural inspection programs AND/OR conducting inspections and preparing building condition reports which may include accessibility audits.
Recent* and significant** experience in providing architectural technical advice to clients.
* Recent experience is defined in the last 6 years
** Significant is defined as acquired in a duration of approximately 4 years
Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT); or Licensed Technologist OAA with the Ontario Association of Applied Architectural Sciences (OAAAS); or licensed Architectural Technologist (MAATO) with the Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario (AATO).
LEED accreditation, Canada Green Building Council (CGBC).
Experience in the procurement and management of consultant contracts in a public sector environment
English essential
