Intent of the process

A qualified pool of candidates may be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions under the Real Property Professional Development and Apprenticeship Program (PDAP) with the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada with various tenures.

The PDAP allows participants to progressively move from the AS 02 to the AS 05 group and level.

Post-graduate degree (e.g. Masters) from a recognized university in a discipline related to real estate OR public administration.

EXPERIENCE
Experience in service delivery to clients.
Experience in office space leasing OR accommodation management OR acquisition and disposal of real property OR building management.

ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Preference may be given to candidates who are members of a visible minority or an Aboriginal group and/or are persons with disabilities.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Interns must be prepared to travel occasionally.
Interns must hold a valid driver’s licence.

A written exam may be administered.

PLEASE NOTE: The new Public Service Entrance Exam (PSEE) – Test of Judgement (TOJ–375) will replace the Situational Judgement Test (SJT-318) as of September 1st, 2015.
The TOJ-375 assesses an individual's judgement, required for solving problems in work-related situations for officer-level positions. In comparison to the SJT-318, the TOJ-375 uses a broader scope of competencies and situations to assess judgement.

Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.

Candidates may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.

A random or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.

Candidates from outside the federal public service may be required to pay for their own travel and relocation expenses.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
