This is a continuous intake inventory to create and maintain an inventory for future opportunities. This process may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various security requirements, conditions of employment as well as various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Environment and Climate Change Canada in Toronto, Ontario. The inventory may also be used to staff positions for various locations in Canada.

Education
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.
Note:
1. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Experience:
EX1: Experience compiling, synthesizing and analyzing scientific data from various sources
EX2: Experience in preparing and writing scientific reports or technical summaries

Knowledge:
K1: Knowledge of meteorological instruments, methods of observations and measurement uncertainty principles as defined in WMO-No. 8

Asset Education:
AsE1: Graduation with an electrical or mechanical Engineering degree
Asset Experience:
AsEX1: Experience in the use of Geographic Information Systems and mapping software (e.g. ESRI GIS software suite ArcMap, ArcCatalog, etc.)
AsEX2: Experience developing custom scripts in a variety of computer programming languages (e.g. Python, C/C++, Javascript, SQL, etc.) to improve process efficiency and effectiveness
AsEX3: Experience working with a formal Quality Management System (QMS), such as ISO 9001
AsEX4: Experience utilizing business intelligence and/or data analytics tools, such as Power BI or Tableau
AsEX5: Experience in atmospheric monitoring and/or operations
AsEX6: Experience in providing scientific recommendations to different audiences
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
May require occasional travel nationally and/or internationally
May require frequent travel to national offices
Occasional overtime may be required
