This process consists of two streams:
• Stream 1: Junior Project Engineer (ENG-02)
• Stream 2: Engineer (ENG-03)
A pool of qualified candidates will be established and will be used to staff similar positions at the same group and level, with various linguistic requirements, on an indeterminate or temporary basis within Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Education
ENG-02 & ENG-03
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
Experience:
ENG-02 & ENG-03
Experience in identifying the needs of users and other stakeholders, and developing software based on those sets of needs.
Experience in writing technical documents related to software design and development.
Recent* and significant** experience in developing and maintaining software applications and interacting with backend databases.
ENG-03 only
Experience in analyzing an IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and suggest enhancement solutions.
Experience in analyzing industry and technological trends to identify impact on enterprise architecture.

Recent* and significant** experience means one or more years of work experience within the last five years (ENG-02)
Recent* and significant** experience means three or more years of work experience within the last five years (ENG-03)
Asset Qualifications
Education
ENG-02 & ENG-03
Degree from an accredited university or significant courses in hydrological or hydraulic engineering or science
Experience:
ENG-02 & ENG-03
Experience in analyzing large amount of data using statistical tools and drawing conclusions
Experience in the acquisition, analysis, and processing of water quantity data
ENG-03 only
Experience in project management including planning, coordinating, implementing and reporting on results
