Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Learning Platforms, this position is responsible for a range of functional and technical activities to improve the overall operational effectiveness of the learning ecosystem of open source and commercial off the shelf applications used by 260,000 federal public servants. This role, provides support across the Canada School of Public Service’s varying learning technologies, including D2L Brightspace, Kaltura, Zoom, Drupal, Webex, and other educational technologies.
Duties include and are not limited to the following:
• Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of D2L Brightspace, Kaltura, WordPress, and other key platforms, including third-party tools that use Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) and API frameworks.
• Monitor reoccurring issues, system/data, or process gaps, and proactively identify potential ways to increase efficiency and improve user experience
• Research, evaluate, and deploy new technologies that will most effectively enhance the learning experiences for Public Servants across Canada.
• Stay up-to-date on new learning technologies and updates to existing ones
• Maintain both professional and technical knowledge by attending educational technology workshops and pursuing related professional development opportunities
• provide support to users across the School

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
NOTES:
Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.
At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. EXPERIENCE
• *Significant and **recent experience working in an Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT) environment analyzing requirements, providing technical advice, delivering solutions and/or providing support for ***complex IT applications.
• Experience in configuring and deploying, maintaining and supporting database applications on physical servers, virtual and cloud environments.
• Experience in enterprise cloud infrastructure and management.
Experience in application design, optimization, interoperability and maintenance.

ASSET - EXPERIENCE
Experience working with one or more of the following technologies:
• Web (e.g. HTML5, CSS, JavaScript),

• Enterprise Services (e.g. web services, service bus, service oriented architecture),
• Or, System development lifecycle methodologies.
