Maintenance of all electrical services, fire and security alarms, distribution systems and fixtures for the occupants and staff of a Correctional Service of Canada institution.
Electricians with the Correctional Service of Canada work within our institutions and with offenders, installing and repairing electrical systems to contribute to the safety and security of the institution.
Candidates must be willing to work in a correctional environment where ongoing contact with federally sentenced inmates will be necessary.
A pool of qualified candidates resulting from this process may be used to fill temporary and permanent vacancies in Kingston, Campbellford and Gravenhurst as they become available.

A secondary school diploma or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Possession of a valid Journeyman Electrician Certification in the Province of Ontario or an Interprovincial licence.
Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, infrastructure and associated control systems in a manufacturing, industrial or institutional environment.

Asset Qualifications
Successful completion of any work related continuing education courses related to relevant facility maintenance or workplace safety.
Experience managing the electrical component of construction and maintenance projects.
Experience resolving Arc-Flash hazards related to electrical equipment.
Experience troubleshooting electrical work on fire alarm systems.
Experience in working with emergency back up generator systems in an institutional setting.
Experience with the operation of aerial platforms.
Experience working with any of the following: Computer Maintenance Management Systems, Building Automation or Management Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
Experience supervising individuals.
Experience training individuals.
Experience working in a correctional or institutional facility.
