The need is to staff one indeterminate position (English essential) in the Prairie and Northern Region and one bilingual indeterminate position in one of the locations listed at the top of the poster.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established. This pool may be used to staff identical or similar positions with various language requirements and various security requirements within the Department of Environment and Climate Change Canada. These positions may be staffed on an indeterminate or temporary basis.

Your résumé.
Education:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, chemistry, or some other science relevant to the position
Experience:
(1) Recent and direct experience* leading or working in a team regarding the implementation or coordination of environmental programs.
(2) Recent and direct experience* providing scientific or technical advice, or formulating recommendations, on environmental programs or projects.
(3) Recent and direct experience* in applying air quality science related to environmental protection such as: air quality modeling, air quality monitoring, or air pollutant emission inventories.
* Recent and direct experience is defined as the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having conducted a range of activities over a minimum period of two (2) years within the past five (5) years.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Post-graduate degree from a recognized university, in a specialization relevant to the duties of the position.
Experience
• Experience reviewing resource development projects and providing advice in the areas of air quality or greenhouse gas emissions
• Experience in Indigenous or stakeholder consultations.
• Experience in planning, writing or evaluating technical documentation such as: environmental impact assessment and advice or environmental monitoring studies

Information on language requirements
Knowledge:
1) Knowledge of key air quality issues.
2) Knowledge of principles and practices used in the conduct of environmental impact assessments as they relate to air quality, such as the identification of potential adverse environmental effects, mitigation measures, or monitoring studies.
Abilities and Skills:
(1) Ability to communicate effectively orally
(2) Ability to communicate effectively in writing
(3) Ability to integrate and synthesize complex information from widely dispersed sources in order to identify issues of key relevance.

Knowledge
(1) Knowledge of priorities and programs of Environment and Climate Change Canada relating to air quality.
(2) Knowledge of federal environmental assessment legislation.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Must be available to make on-site visits to industrial facilities and remote field sites
• Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility to the degree normally associated with possession of a valid diver’s license within the limits of Treasury Board’s Travel Policy.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime; and at times work weekends, statutory/provincial/territorial holidays and irregular hours
