Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, employees of Indigenous Services Canada are currently working remotely. The department is actively working on a flexible, phased approach for the safe return of employees to their usual workspaces. Therefore, this opportunity may initially be a remote working opportunity. When it is deemed safe to return to the workplace, the opportunity will be in an Indigenous Services Canada office located in the Atlantic Region.

The intent of this process is to fill several positions on an indeterminate basis within the Atlantic Region. A pool of qualified candidates will also be established and could be used to fill identical or similar positions of varying duration and with different linguistic profiles within Indigenous Services Canada offices within the Atlantic Region and across Canada.

Education:
Graduation with a degree (baccalaureate or higher-level degree) from a recognized post-secondary institution;
OR
an acceptable combination of education, training and at least five (5) years of relevant work experience.
Experience:
Significant* experience in providing advice and briefings to management.
Significant* experience in building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
Significant* experience in the delivery of a service or a program.
Experience working with Indigenous people, communities or organizations.
NOTE:
* Significant experience refers to the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance where it was the candidate’s primary work responsibilities for a period of two years consecutive.
Education:
Graduation with a degree (baccalaureate or higher-level degree) from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in a field relevant to duties of the position being staffed.
Experience:
Experience in supervising a team.
Experience in one of the following areas:
- Mental Health and Addictions, and/or other health related fields
- Social Work in child protection and services
- Lands management
- Emergency management
- Infrastructure project management
- Grants and contributions funding management

1. Applications that are retained or screened-in are those that provide information in the prescreening questionnaire that demonstrate meeting the essential education and experiences. You must provide your education level and the institution where you attained this level, and concrete examples on how you meet each of the four essential experience elements and the period of time the experiences were acquired.
