The purpose of this process is to fill the position of Regional Director General - Manitoba Region located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

EXPERIENCE
- Significant* experience in consulting, negotiating and partnering with Indigenous leaders or organizations, and provincial or territorial governments on large scale program or projects.
- Recent* and significant* experience in managing and implementing complex* operations with high stakes in terms of program, policy, service or partnership impacts.
-Significant* experience in providing strategic advice to senior leaders on Indigenous issues and relationships.
- Significant* experience in managing human* resources and finance*.
Notes:
Recent experience is defined as having been acquired within the last five (5) years.
Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of activities related to the work, which is normally acquired over a period of at least two (2) years.
Complex issues are defined as having two of the following characteristics: multidimensional, sensitive, confidential, affecting many partners or stakeholders, precedent setting or having a major impact on the program delivery for the public service.
Some examples of managing human resources may include: supervising staff, establishing a vision, priorities, work plans or establishing work objectives, conducting performance assessments and feedback, approving training, demonstration of experience in managing various service delivery and resources allocation frameworks. Applicants must also indicate the number of staff they have supervised.
Some examples of managing financial resources may include: full delegation for a budget, being responsible for financial planning, forecasting and reporting. Applicants must also indicate the size of the budget they managed directly.
EXPERIENCE (ASSET):
- Experience in the management of emergency, crisis and/or disaster situations.
- Experience working with central agencies and developing complex* policy proposals including Memorandum to Cabinet and Treasury Board submissions.
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations on issues such as programs, policies and/or services related to the advancement of Indigenous communities.
- Experience in leading complex** organizational changes or business transformational initiatives.
- Experience in leading grants and contributions programs.

KNOWLEDGE (ASSET) :
- Knowledge of the central decision-making machinery of the government of Canada and of the role played by central agencies in First Nation, Inuit and/or Northern issues.
- Knowledge of the history, aspirations, socio-economic environment, and cultural characteristics of First Nations, Métis and Inuit people in the province of work.
ABILITY (ASSET):
Ability to speak an Indigenous language.
