EDUCATION:
-Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a natural, physical or applied science with specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position (e.g. biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, virology).
Note: The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
EXPERIENCE:
-Experience in critical review related to safety and effectiveness of in vitro diagnostic devices or in the design and evaluation of in vitro diagnostic devices.
-Experience in writing evaluation reports, scientific papers, or risk assessment documents.
ASSET EDUCATION:
Graduation with an MSc, Ph.D. or advanced medical sciences degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
-Experience in the critical safety and effectiveness assessment or development of companion diagnostics or in vitro diagnostic devices intended to aid in the diagnosis of cancer.
-Experience in the critical safety and effectiveness assessment or development of in vitro diagnostic medical devices intended for use at the Point of Care or for self-testing.
-Experience in the critical safety and effectiveness assessment or development of in vitro diagnostic medical devices intended for blood donor screening.
