Assessment accommodation

For the candidates qualified in the EN-ENG-04 Project / Program Manager, 15-CSA-EA-83110 pool, please note that some qualification assessments may be transferred in whole or in part to this appointment process. In addition, some results of the evaluations of other engineer processes at the Canadian Space Agency could be transferred to this appointment process. However, please note that the candidates must apply to this process in order to be considered.

Please note that the results of the competency assessments of the appointment processes EN-ENG-04 Systems 20-CSA-EA-84954 and EN-ENG-04 Operations 20-CSA-EA-85117 will be transferred as part of this process.

When submitting your application, you will have to answer questions regarding the education and experience requirements. You must clearly demonstrate with clear and specific examples how you meet these requirements, to specify the exact period (month/year to month/year) and to provide sufficient information to allow the selection committee to assess the depth and breadth of experience in terms of qualifications sought. It is not sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to only provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Duties

Establishes, manages and delivers projects, ensuring that they meet cost, schedule, performance / technical and programmatic objectives; leads the matrixed-in project team; identifies and manages risks and develops contingency plans; and / or supports the Senior Project / Program Engineer in such activities for larger projects; and provides project reports.

Negotiates, monitors and manages contracts with industrial contractors, and in collaboration with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), for assigned low-risk projects, and/or supports the Senior Project Engineer or Program Manager in such activities for larger projects.

Provides advice and recommendations to the Senior Project Engineer or Program Manager on cost, schedule, performance / technical, programmatic and risk issues for projects and / or programs.

• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
OR
• Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position to be staffed.

EXPERIENCES:
• At least seven (7) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in evaluating, analyzing and solving problems and in making recommendations in the engineering field.
• At least one (1) year of experience within the last ten (10) years in the management of engineering projects including, but not limited to: planning (including option analyses), cost/schedule scope, risk management and contract management.
