Assessment accommodation

Duties

On November 25, the Federal Court of Canada approved a settlement for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and Department of National Defence (DND) sexual misconduct class action. This settlement affects people who experienced sexual assault, sexual harassment, or discrimination based on gender, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation while serving in the CAF, working for DND, or for the Staff of the Non-Public Funds, Canadian Forces.

The approved settlement provides an opportunity for individuals to share their experiences with senior DND/CAF representatives in a facilitated restorative engagement process. DND’s Sexual Misconduct Response Centre (SMRC) has been mandated to development and implement this new and innovative program and is seeking skilled and dedicated individuals to join the Restorative Engagement (RE) Team.

Intent of the process

The intent of this inventory is to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff positions for specified periods, approximately one (1) to (2) years with possibility of extension. The established pool may also be used in the future to staff similar positions at an equivalent group and level with various employment tenures, language profiles, security requirements, and conditions of employment. Individuals hired for a specified period will remain in the pool for future consideration.

EDUCATION:
ED01. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in a relevant social science such as psychology, criminology, victimology or social work.

EXPERIENCE:
AS-05 & AS-06:
EX01. Experience in developing and implementing projects, programs, protocols or procedures. Significant experience required for AS-06*.
EX02. Experience in writing reports, presentations or briefing materials to facilitate decision making. Significant experience required for AS-06*.

*Significant experience required for the AS-06 group and level, significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth normally associated with having performed activities related to this task for approximately two (2) years.

AS-05 only:
EX03. Experience in developing or implementing mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of a project, program or service.

AS-06 only:
EX04. Experience in conducting analysis and providing strategic advice to management.
