As a Security Officer, you will participate in establishing, promoting, delivering, and monitoring the security program activities and services of Global Affairs Canada. This will include delivering training and information sessions to departmental employees, as well as providing advice and recommendations on security requirements. You will be actively involved in the physical security and protection of departmental personnel, information, operations and assets, including equipment and facilities. You will also be called on to support or coordinate security for events such as major incidents, security violations, and breaches of security, and to support and provide initial responses to emergency situations. You will be given the opportunity to participate as part of the rotational on-call duty officer to support and respond to any and all incidents or emergencies reported to or by the commissionaires.

EDUCATION:

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.
EXPERIENCE:

Experience in investigating security incidents.
Experience in preparing security-related reports and formulating recommendations
Experience in providing initial responses to emergencies.

EXPERIENCE:
