Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established which may be used to staff similar positions with various bilingual linguistic profiles, security requirements and various tenures within Library and Archives Canada.

Our immediate need is to staff the position on a temporary (12 months) basis with a possibility of extension.

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree* from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

*Degree Unless it is otherwise specified (e.g., Master’s degree), the term “degree” refers to a baccalaureate as established by educational authorities.

Note: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

If you do not have a degree in one of these three specializations, list clearly the relevant courses you have taken or the experience that is related.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in managing library programs or major projects relating to library or information management;

Experience in the management of human and financial resources;

Experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management (director level and above).

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a master's degree in library science or in library and information science.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in metadata creation, sharing and management;

Experience in the acquisition, description and/or management of digital information resources;

Experience developing services supporting library collection management or services that amplify discovery and use of library collections by clients.
