OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Possession of a valid Nova Scotia or Inter-provincial Journeyperson Certificate in the Plumbing trade OR a military QL5 equivalent qualification (for applicable trades).
Note: Candidates who do not currently possess a valid Provincial or Territorial Trade Certificate of Qualification or the inter-provincial Red Seal will be required to obtain their Red Seal certificate of qualification prior to appointment. EXPERIENCE
Recent and extensive experience** in the repair, maintenance, inspection, installation of commercial or industrial trade related systems and equipment.
** Recent and extensive experience – Candidates must possess 2 years’ relevant experience as a qualified technician obtained within the last 5 years.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, and/or inspection of hot water heating systems
Experience in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or inspection of glycol systems
Experience in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or inspection of low pressure steam systems
Organizational Needs

Operational requirements
Willingness to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
Reliability Status security clearance
Possession of a valid and unrestricted provincial Driver’s licence.
Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driving permit.
Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment
Candidates must be willing and able to work in confined spaces
Physically able to lift of up to 25 kg when required
Willingness to work overtime as required
Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
Willingness to work at heights from ladders and scaffolding
Able and willing to travel
Willingness to be on standby as required
