For this selection process, it is our intention to communicate with candidates via email for screening and assessment purposes. Under the supervision of the Manager, the Program Officer will carry out activities aimed at promoting the establishment, growth and improvement of the home construction industry through the implementation of new and existing building initiatives. More specifically Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is involved in supporting energy efficiency for both new and existing housing, including the EnerGuide Rating System and the ENERGY STAR for New Homes and R-2000 initiatives. The Program Officer will promote productivity and energy efficiency adoption within the residential construction industry in addition to supporting the Technical Services Group team.
A pool of (fully or partially qualified) candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at the CO-01 group and level within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a discipline relevant to the duties of the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
*Experience in the delivery of projects, programs or services
*Experience in conducting research, analysis and synthesizing large amounts of data to inform decision making
*Experience in establishing or maintaining internal or external partnerships with industry or delivery partners, other government departments
*Experience in developing written material such as briefing notes, reports or recommendations used by senior management**.
*Experience is defined as the depth, breadth and complexity of experience normally acquired with having performed work, as part of the regular duties of the candidate, for a period of at least two (2) years following graduation from a post-secondary institution.
**Senior management is defined as Director or above.
