Duties

These positions are essential for the operations of both internal and external (public facing) web products produced by the department.

Tasks include development, maintenance and support of new and existing web products for various programs including Winterlude and Canada Day.

Tasks may include the analysis of partner requirements and translation of requirements into software specifications, accessibility compliance testing support and perhaps you will be required to provide on-call support for heightened awareness event periods.

All positions require you to work to build relationships and collaborate with talented people in multi-disciplinary projects and develop a rich network of colleagues with diverse backgrounds.

You must be driven to go above and beyond for the team, thrive working in a fast paced environment where priorities and deliverables can shift and be dedicated to deliver quality services to support to PCH programs.

An asset for this position would be if you have experience with the latest efficient technologies and/or software in order to improve the way we work in a digital world.

Successful completion of two (2) years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed; or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience working or collaborating with others on IT projects or initiatives.

Experience in at least one of the following:
--» supporting IT infrastructure;
--» developing web-based applications and/or mobile applications;
--» delivering quality assurance testing of web-based applications or mobile applications;
--» providing user experience services.

Both criteria are defined as experience acquired in the last 5 years

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS | One or more of the following could be use during the prescreening or assessment phase.

Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position.

Degree or certificate in User Experience design from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.

Certification relevant to information technology such as: Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP); Certified Information Security Manager (CISM); Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP); Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), A+, Networking +, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Project Management.

Degree equivalency

Experience providing UX services to IT enabled initiatives.

Experience conducting UX work including wireframing and prototyping.

Experience collaborating with designers and developers to create intuitive, user-friendly software.

Experience gathering and documenting business or technical requirements.

Experience developing or modifying websites or web applications to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Experience designing or developing applications using programming languages (e.g. JAVA, .NET, ColdFusion, PowerShell, Python, etc.).

Experience designing or developing web applications using JavaScript, CSS and HTML5.

Experience developing, testing or supporting all or some of MS Dynamics, MS SharePoint, Adobe LiveCycle, Adobe Experience Manager, MS Teams, and M365/O365.

Experience developing or maintaining database access components of an IM/IT application (e.g. REST or SOAP web services, SQL/PLSQL, or database persistence frameworks).

Experience working with cloud-based development technologies, including application containerization, and the implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code and scripting to support automation of common tasks.

Experience working in an Agile Scrum development team.

Experience working in IT Security: (e.g. vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, security risk management, exposure assessments, IT continuity planning.)

Experience structuring, transforming and reporting data using various BI tools.

Experience working in quality assurance with regard to testing custom software and web applications using automation tools.

Knowledge of software programming principles and best practices.

Knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices.

Knowledge of software quality assurance/quality control and testing practices.
