The provision of facilities-management related professional engineering expertise, strategic advice, services, direction and management of facilities including sites, service clusters, and Community Correctional Centres (CCC) and Regional Headquarters (RHQ) in the Atlantic region of Correctional Service Canada (CSC).
Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff indeterminately, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level 3 and 4 with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures (acting appointments, assignment, deployment, indeterminate, specified period, secondment), various security requirements and conditions of employment. EDUCATION
● Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
● Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position (some positions may require eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada without regard for the field of specialization).
EXPERIENCE
● Experience* managing facilities infrastructure and equipment maintenance or construction projects.
● Experience* managing human and financial resources.
*Minimum of 1 year experience in the past 3 years.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
● Graduation with a Masters degree in engineering.
● Eligible for registration as a professional engineer in Canada.
● Experience working in a correctional infrastructure.
● Experience working on infrastructure projects in a Federal Government Department.
● Experience developing project proposals.
