Education:
- Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
- Experience researching, consolidating information from various sources and providing analysis into one or more of the following: roll-ups, reports, briefing notes or presentations for management.
- Experience providing management with strategic advice and recommendations on complex and sensitive program or policy issues.
- Experience in leading consultations or collaboration initiatives with internal clients, other government departments and agencies, other levels of government, stakeholder organizations or Indigenous groups in the development or delivery of programs or services.
Education:
- Successful completion of the Fishery Officer Career Progression Program (FOCPP), (Only applicable to certain positions) (http://www.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/enf-loi/training-formation-eng.htm )

- OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience working in law enforcement.
Experience:
- Experience evaluating and implementing the compliance program aspects of Integrated Fishery Management Plans (IFMP) and/or Integrated Management of Aquaculture Plans (IMAP).
- Experience providing advice and recommendations on compliance program strategies and priorities and their implementation.
- Experience in participating in or leading inter-sectoral coordination teams.
- Experience in establishing working relationships with stakeholders at various level (such as; Federal, Provincial or International levels).
- Experience in conducting Natural Resource or Policing Law Enforcement work.
- Experience working for a recognized law enforcement or regulatory agency.
- Experience in conducting Aquaculture inspections and/or working in the Aquaculture industry.
- Experience in delivering training in Regulatory or Criminal Law Enforcement or in marine mammal response.
- Experience in managing projects and applying project management principles and best practices.
- Experience in working on marine mammal and/or working on Marine Protected Areas strategic development.
- Experience in developing, interpreting or implementing legislation, regulations, policies or procedures to meet regional or national requirements.
- Experience being a direct supervisor.

Conditions of Employment:
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice.
- Ability and willingness to Travel.
Other conditions of employment (only applicable to certain positions):
- Deployment to any part of the country, or assignment to all types of enforcement activities such as inland, coastal and offshore patrols, and/or forensic investigations and/or special operations.
- Meet medical and psychological suitability standards.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license, a current standard First Aid Certificate and a CPR Certificate.
- Carry and use firearms, including restricted and prohibited weapons. Meet the DFO proficiency standards.
- Meet the DFO use of force proficiency standards.
- Wear a uniform and required protective clothing.
- Work and/or travel at sea, overnight on board a CCG/DFO vessel, in a variety of terrains and degrees of isolation for various periods or up to 3 weeks continuously or longer in all weather conditions will be required.
