Education
Stream 1 (PC-03):
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.
Note:
1. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Stream 2 (EN-ENG-04):
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
Note:
1. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Experience (Streams 1 and 2)
• EX1 - Experience* in at least one of the following:
o quantification of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions or other air pollutants; or
o review, design or implementation of processes and technologies to reduce GHG emissions or air pollutants.
• EX2 - Significant** experience in leading or coordinating multidisciplinary technical working groups on scientific or environmental issues.
• EX3 - Significant** experience leading the development of scientific and technical advice and preparing briefing materials, presentations, and other materials for a range of audiences including senior management***.
* Experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full time performance of the duties in a work environment, or during graduate studies such as a Masters or Ph. D., during a period of at least one (1) year.
** Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full time performance of the duties in a work environment, or during graduate studies such as a Masters or Ph. D., during a period of at least four (4) years.
*** Senior management means director level (EX-01 equivalent for the Federal Public Service; or acceptable equivalent in the private sector) or above.
