TELEWORK

Virtual work reporting is possible in designated workplaces (footprint) established by ESDC's Human Resources Services Branch. Note due to COVID-19, the work will be done via telework until further notice.

Appointments, deployments and assignments in non-footprint sites may be considered for employees of ESDC.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff three positions.

- Senior Officer, Business Strategies
- Senior Analyst, Web Analytics
- Senior Portfolio Officer

A pool of candidates may be created and used to staff similar positions within ESDC.

Virtual work may be a possibility for certain position(s).

EDUCATION

Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary education program from a recognized educational institution in computer science, information technology, information management, business administration or another specialty relevant to the position(s) being staffed, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience*.

*For example, two years of Web-related experience on a continuing basis with a secondary school diploma.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience in identifying and analyzing problems, and making clear recommendations to management*.

Experience participating in and maintaining collaborative working relationships with clients, partners and/or stakeholders.

Experience in leading and/or contributing to delivery of projects or initiatives in a multi-disciplinary team.

* Management is defined as manager or above.

ITIL certification

Project management certification/PMP

Experience in project management.

Experience in coordinating and overseeing technical testing activities of technical/publishing platforms.

Experience in social media account management and/or mobile technologies.

Experience in product management and/or vendor management.

Experience in coordinating or leading communities of practice and/or working groups.

Experience in customer service management (e.g. managing a service desk).

At least one year of experience in supervising employees and managing employees’ performance.

Experience in implementing data analytics tools.

Experience in carrying out data analytics including the collection and organization of data related to business intelligence/insight.

Experience in communicating/briefing management on Web projects, activities, and issues.

Experience in Web and/or digital analytics.

Candidates must meet all the essential criteria in order to be appointed.
However, applicants may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.

Please note that asset qualifications, top-down and/or random selection may be used at any stage of the assessment process to identify which applications will be given further consideration.

What is a top-down selection? It is where only the top scoring candidates will be invited to the next stage of the assessment. Please note that different pass marks and cut-off scores can be used at various stages of the assessment process. Candidates who attain the pass mark might not be further considered in the process if they do not achieve the cut-off score.

We ask for your collaboration to ensure an efficient process but we will also try to provide some flexibility. We will not consider requests for rescheduling beyond the reasons we will outline to candidates. Candidates who do not respond to inquiries from the assessment committee by the required deadlines or fail to attend/complete the assessment without good reason may be eliminated from further consideration.

At the time of assessment, proof of Canadian Citizenship and proof of education will be required. A security check may also be administered during assessment.
