As a Special Operating Agency of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, we are responsible for the safety and accessibility of Canada's oceans and waterways while supporting economic prosperity.

We are a nationally recognized, world-leading symbol of safety, operating along the longest coastline in the world. We are the lead for marine oil spill responses and we work with partners to ensure appropriate responses to incidents. We are also involved in maritime distress monitoring, communication, and search and rescue operations.

Our fleet is growing! Many new ships will be joining the Coast Guard fleet in the coming years providing us with an opportunity to highlight the breadth of our services we provide to Canadians.

As an AMS Officer, you will be responsible to provide the technical community with the necessary training to be able to maintain our fleet and other assets.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate Asset Management Systems Officer position in Québec, QC. A pool of qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions on a temporary or permanent basis within the Canadian Coast Guard.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience using Asset Management Software, such as Maximo, SAP or DRIMS or other.
Experience providing technical training courses as an instructor.
Experience providing technical support.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION
Post-secondary or graduate degree in a relevant field, such as education or computer science.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience leading the development of multi-day training course materials such as Work Instructions, Quick Reference Guides and Microsoft PowerPoint course materials.
Experience providing support in at least one phase of asset Life Cycle Management.
