In all areas of our business, each one of us has a role in supporting the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in operations. As a civilian employee, you will be an essential part of the Defence Team. Together, DND and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) create the largest, most complex organization in Canada. DND's role is to provide services and support to the CAF in their operations and missions at home and abroad. DND and the CAF work side-by-side to fulfill the Government of Canada’s mission to defend Canada and Canadians and contribute to international peace, security and stability efforts.
This process may be used by the Department of National Defence to establish a pool of partially qualified candidates. It may be used to staff similar positions with various employment tenures, language profiles, security requirements, and conditions of employment. Please note that candidates may be required to pass further assessment in order to meet qualifications specific to the position to be staffed.

EDUCATION:
-A secondary school diploma; and
-Completion of an acceptable training program in electronics technology or the employer-approved alternative.
The employer-approved alternative is as follows:
-An acceptable combination of education, training or experience.
Note:
1.Normally, an acceptable training program in electronics technology involves the completion of two to three years of post-secondary study in this subject.
EXPERIENCE:
E1. *Recent experience with installation, configuration, or maintenance of electronics technology related to the position being staffed.
(ex: audio, visual, communications etc)
E2. Experience conducting site or workplace inspections.
Essential for EL-06 ONLY:
E3. *Recent and **extensive experience with installation, configuration, or maintenance of electronics technology related to the position being staffed.
E4. Experience in supervising.
Definition:
Recent* is defined as experience normally acquired within the last 2 years.
Extensive** is defined as at least 5 years.

ASSET EDUCATION

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT(S):
Depending upon the position being staffed, one or more of the following operational requirements may be required, but are not limited to:
-Willingness and ability to work pre-authorized overtime, as required;
-Willingness and ability to travel, as required;
-Willingness and ability to work at various sites; and
-Willingness and ability to be on call and provide standby support, as required.
-Willing and able to work in confined spaces.
-Willing and able to lift up to 20 kg in accordance with safe work practices.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
-Reliability and Security: Various security levels (Reliability, Secret, Top Secret)
-Possess and maintain a valid, non-graduated, and unrestricted driver's license or provincial or territorial equivalent.
-Depending on the position to be staffed, other conditions of employment may apply.
