Intent of the process

This selection process will initially be used to staff one vacant temporary position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar CR-04/SPS-CK-04 positions on a temporary basis.

The estimated duration for this temporary vacancy is one year.

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

EDUCATION

A secondary School Diploma or employer-approved alternative.

*The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:

A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.**

** Acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience must consist of at least 2 of the following:

Education: successful completion of two years of secondary school and/or

Training: successful completion of acceptable level of training courses and/or

Experience: a minimum of 2 years work experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Recent* and significant** experience providing support services in a police or legal service environment.

Recent* and significant** experience using computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft OneNote, PowerPoint, etc.

Experience working with advanced features of Adobe Acrobat Professional, including at least two (2) of the following: merging of documents, creating bookmarks, creating hyperlinks and using electronic vetting tools.

Experience in reviewing and extracting information from documents, files or databases.

*Recent experience is defined as within the last 2 years.

**Significant is defined as a depth and breadth of experience normally acquired with having performed a broad range of duties for a minimum of two (2) continuous years.

Asset Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

Experience identifying relevant information from operational investigative file(s) to create links within a relational database to assist in the preparation of electronic disclosures which are organized, indexed and searchable.

Recent* experience in using police computer applications such as: PROS (Policing Reporting Occurrence System); CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre); E&R III (Evidence & Reports); VERSADEX; JEIN (Justice Enterprise Information Network) etc.

Experience using Major Case Management software applications, for example Evidence & Reports, SUPERText, Powercase.

Experience in applying the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act to vet information requested by third parties.

Experience in multi‐media conversion.

Conditions of employment

Top Secret security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc . As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.
