Workplace:

At the time this job opportunity was published, Indigenous Services Canada employees had not yet returned to their workplace due to the context of COVID-19. Therefore, the successful candidates may have to work remotely until further notice.

The official workplace for the position of Non-Insured Health Benefits Analyst is located in Montreal. Depending on the needs and requirements of the service, the possibility of a telework arrangement could be considered. The request will be assessed in accordance with the provisions of the Directive on Telework.

Duties

Do you like a challenge when you come to work? If so, the position of a Benefits Analyst could be the perfect opportunity for you. You will receive a high volume of incoming calls from our clients and stakeholders in a fast paced call centre environment. You will have to process payments to clients and service providers. Due to the high volume of requests you will learn how to prioritize your day as you will have continuous interruptions, responding to inquiries over the phone and processing fax requests. This could be an opportunity for you to develop new skills and further develop skills you already have; such skills include attention to detail, improved computer skills, communication skills, conflict management, workload management and prioritization.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

NOTE:

• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience researching information and resolving problems in a customer service environment.
Experience in using one or more of the following: word processing software, spreadsheet applications, online data retrieval applications.

COMPETENCY:
Aboriginal Cultural Competency.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
( Not essential, but preference may be given to candidates who possess asset qualifications.)
Experience working effectively with First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
Experience in determining eligibility and processing benefit requests.
Experience providing front line customer service.
Experience working in a call centre environment.
